Mubasher: National Mobile Telecommunications (Ooredoo) has reported a 177.5% year-on-year profit hike during the second quarter of 2019.

Ooredoo’s profit grew to KWD 8.52 million ($28.06 million) in Q1-19 versus KWD 3.07 million ($10.11 million) in the year-ago period, according to a bourse statement released on Wednesday.

The Kuwait-listed company’s profit surged 41.6% to KWD 17.32 million during the first six months of 2019, compared to KWD 12.23 million a year earlier.

Ooredoo posted a 3.9% year-on-year decline in its profit during the first quarter of 2019, registering KWD 8.81 million ($29 million).
